Do not forget to bring your pets inside when it is too cold outside. IF IT IS TOO COLD FOR YOU, IT IS TOO COLD FOR THEM! The law says: During cold weather, a dog shelter must have a windbreak at its entrance and have bedding material that is sufficient to protect the animal from cold and promote the retention of body heat.

Vaccinate Your Pets Against Rabies
In accordance with Virginia State Law, all dogs and cats over the age of 4 months are required to be vaccinated for rabies. This vaccination must have a booster every 1-3 years to be valid. This law is to ensure public and animal safety from this deadly disease. Each county/city also required that you purchase yearly dog license tags. These can be purchased at the local court house or municipal building for minimal cost. Please note that you must show your animals rabies vaccination to get these tags. The Carroll County Animal Control function is supported through fees collected from the sale of dog tags. State Laws require that all dogs four months and older be licensed and vaccinated for rabies within the County where the dog is owned.
