Notes: Chirp is a 2 year old Australian Kelpie mix that came in to us as a stray after being hit by a car and being left at the vet. Last week she went into her foster home to heal and relax from the stress of being in the shelter.
Since being at her foster home, they have reported that Chirp is very sweet and doing well. She loves to play tug-o-war and fetch, is very respectful and has good manners. She is doing well with crate training, and learning her foster home rules. She loves to cuddle. She knows basic commands like how to sit, shake, and lay down, and is learning roll over as well. She loves car rides and has tagged along on a short hiking trip. She is fostered on a farm with big and small dogs, 3 farm cats, and several other farm animals. Chirp gets along well with the horses and cattle, she has also been around chickens while on a leash. She has a little prey drive which makes her want to chase anything that runs fast. She has been around toddlers but likes to try to chase them when playing. Do not forget to bring your pets inside when it is too cold outside. IF IT IS TOO COLD FOR YOU, IT IS TOO COLD FOR THEM! The law says: During cold weather, a dog shelter must have a windbreak at its entrance and have bedding material that is sufficient to protect the animal from cold and promote the retention of body heat.
